From the Principal

Dear Families and Friends

Hard to believe we are at the end of Term 2 and halfway through the school year. This of course means that you will be receiving your child’s report which I have had the pleasure of reading this week. It has been exciting to read about the work students have been doing in relation to our whole school focus on “Studies of Asia” and the relatively new learning area of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths). I am sure you will have much to celebrate as you read the reports. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact the class teacher. We welcome feedback from you.

At the beginning of next term, Monday 22nd July staff will be involved in a full day training program that is facilitated by the Learning and Inclusion team from the Catholic Education Office. We look forward to seeing all the students return on Tuesday 23rd July.

Included in this newsletter are some great articles about the Kildare College excursion and the Casuals4Cans days. I thank the staff of Kildare for inviting us to be part this great experience and to our Social Justice Committee for organising an event to support others in need.

I wish you all a safe and restful holiday.

Kind regards

Cathy

On Thursday, 4th July, a large contingent of St Patrick's students travelled to Kildare College to experience their hospitality. Kildare hosted a group of our students and staff as part of their staff retreat. A small group of Kildare staff also visited St Patrick's and participated in school based activities including Music, Cooking, Nature Play and Sport.

At Kildare a range of activities including Art, PE, Home Economics, STEM, Music and Drama were on offer. Our students upheld themselves fantastically well and enjoyed exploring a new environment. Kildare’s kitchen, art studio, ovals and new gymnasium were especially popular. We were treated with lunch before heading back to St Patrick's.

Safe to say, many of our students and staff slept very well!
